Post-War and Contemporary Art

As the global market leader for post-war and contemporary art since 2010, Christie’s continues to innovate, leading the way in response to evolving market trends and collecting habits.

Our flagship 20th/21st Century Art auctions spotlight seminal modern and contemporary works. Our auctions in London, New York, and Paris highlight iconic artists from 1945 to 1970, such as Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon and Louise Bourgeois, along with contemporary stars like Jeff Koons, Mickalene Thomas, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Gerhard Richter.

In 2021, Christie’s was the first international auction house to sell an NFT of a purely digital work of art, setting the stage for this dynamic new collecting category.

Beyond auctions, Christie’s hosts selling exhibitions and private sales featuring paintings, drawings, photographs and installations. Our global team of specialists is available for complimentary and confidential valuations of individual works or entire collections, offering unparalleled expertise for buying or selling at auction, online or through Private Sales.
